Scholarships
Scholarships are a form of financial aid that do not require repayment. Valencia College’s F-1 international students may be eligible for scholarships through the Valencia College Global Achievers Awards, Florida-Linkage Institute, the Valencia College Foundation or through private scholarship.
Valencia College Global Achievers Awards
Valencia College offers three Global Achiever Awards. Please review the eligibility for each scholarship below. Please note that you can only apply for only one of the Global Achievers Awards.
Tuition
Valencia College Global Achievers Award
The Valencia College Global Achievers Award recognizes new, high-achieving, international students who are entering their freshman year. The award amount is $500-$2,500 and is based on merit achievement at the secondary level. A minimum 3.0 grade point average is required. We will evaluate your high school grade point average upon submission of your transcripts. The award is nonrenewable, applied to the first term tuition and fees, and is only open to applicants that have never attended university.
Eligibility:
- Must submit a Valencia College application for admission and all required application materials as stated on the ISS Application Requirements page.
- Submit scholarship application including an essay questions.
- Will graduate from secondary school by the time of enrollment with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- First time in college applicant. Has not previously attended a college or university.
- Plans to enroll as an F-1 visa international student.
- Submits materials by the deadline established.
- Must take full time courses equivalent to at least 12 credit hours in the first semester.

Valencia College Global Achievers Transfer Award
The Valencia College Global Achievers Transfer Award recognizes new, high-achieving, international college transfer students who are entering Valencia College. The award is $500-$1,000 and is based on merit achievement at the college level. A minimum 2.5 grade point average is required. You will have to submit your official college or university transcripts to Valencia College from all schools attended. College or university transcripts from non-U.S. schools will need to have a course-by-course evaluation completed by a professional evaluation company that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). The award is nonrenewable, applied to the first term tuition and fees, and is only open to applicants that have prior international college credits or transferring credits from a US college or university.
Eligibility:
- Must submit a Valencia College application for admission and all required application materials as stated on the ISS Application Requirements page.
- Submit scholarship application including an essay questions.
- Has minimum 2.5 transfer GPA.
- International college applicant has previously attended a college or university abroad or in the U.S. and submits official college or university transcripts to Valencia College from all schools attended.
- Must take full time courses equivalent to at least 12 credit hours in the first semester.
- Cannot have previously attended Valencia College as a degree seeking student.

Valencia College Global Achievers Intensive English Transfer Award
The Valencia College Global Achievers Award recognizes new, high-achieving, international students who are transferring exclusively from Valencia College’s Intensive English program. The award is $500-$1,000. The award is nonrenewable, applied to the first term tuition and fees, and is only open to applicants that are transferring exclusively from the IEP program. Scholarship is competitive.
Eligibility:
- Must submit a Valencia College application for admission and all required application materials as stated on the ISS Application Requirements page.
- Will graduate from secondary school by the time of enrollment with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
- First time in college applicant. Has not previously attended a college or university.
Plans to enroll as an F-1 visa international student. - Submits materials by the deadline established.
- Must take full time courses equivalent to at least 12 credit hours in the first semester.

Aruban Pathways Scholarship
The Aruba Pathways Scholarship awards scholarships for high achieving students from Aruba ranging from $500 - $1000. Aruban students applying to degree seeking programs at Valencia College are strongly encouraged to apply. Awards are competitive and based on quality of submitted documentation. Please note: You must show ties to Aruba in order to apply for this scholarship.

Linkage Scholarships
Available Through Florida’s International Linkage Institutes
Florida-Linkage scholarships are available to students from certain regions/countries.
These awards cover the out-of-state portion of tuition and fees. Each International
Linkage Institute has its own criteria for selecting scholarship recipients. Please

The Valencia College Foundation offers a number of privately funded scholarships to support Valencia College students. As a current international student, you can submit an application through the Valencia Foundation scholarship application portal to be considered.
