Housing Options
After you’re accepted to Valencia College, one of the most important things you’ll need to do is find a place to live. There are a number of options when it comes to deciding where you’ll live when studying here—from on-campus housing and apartments to homestays and hotels. You’ll also want to consider factors such as location, transportation and budget. Check out the various housing options below to see which one best fits what you’re looking for.
On-Campus Housing
UnionWest at Creative Village student housing at Downtown Campus allows you to live where you learn and includes many safety features. Living on campus gives you plenty of opportunity—from getting involved in campus activities and events to interacting with a diverse group of students to residing in a modern, upscale unit. Housing is shared by both Valencia College and UCF students, with several floorplans to choose from.
Living at UnionWest, you’ll get:
- All-inclusive rent that covers utilities, internet and a fully furnished unit
- Private or shared bedrooms and bathrooms
- Resident-only club room with lounge, study areas, and gaming/media center
- Outdoor patio overlooking downtown Orlando and Creative Village Park
- Recreation center
Steps to Apply for Housing
Downtown Campus Housing Interest Submission
You must be admitted to Valencia college before submitting an application for housing. Valencia College admitted students can begin the housing application process for the student housing facility at Downtown Campus, known as UnionWest at Creative Village.
Housing will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will need to sign a one-year lease contract and pay in full at the beginning of each semester.
- Submit your Valencia College application
- Once you’re admitted to Valencia College, set up your Atlas account
- Login to Atlas
- Locate “Student Forms”
- Expand “Applications”
- Click “Downtown Campus Housing Interest Submission”
Other Housing Options
If you plan to live off campus, give yourself plenty of time to look for housing before classes start. Questions? Our International Student Services Staff can help guide you during your search; however, you’ll be responsible for the arrangements made between you and the housing company.
Apartments
Renting an apartment is an ideal housing option for long-term studies. Many apartments include utility costs such as water, electric, cable and internet within the monthly rent and will also take care of maintenance and repair.

Homestays
Homestays give you the opportunity to live with an American host or family. Hosts are pre-screened to ensure safe, quality and affordable housing. Many are interested in cultural exchange and are happy to open their home to you.

Hotels
Hotels may be a short-term housing option if you intend to study through the Intensive English Program for only a few weeks, or a temporary place to stay before you settle into permanent housing.

Having a roommate can help you adjust to American life by giving you someone to share your experiences with—it’s also a great way to save money on rent.
